Ingredients
For the Chicken- 1 chicken, cut into 8 pieces
- 2 onions
- 10 flakes garlic
- 25 g ginger
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 4 green chillies
- 30 g coriander leaves
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp brown vinegar or lime juice
- 100 g vemicelli, crumbled
For the Chutney- 225 g coriander leaves
- 1/2 coconut, grated
- 1 tsp cummin powder
- 2 tbsp groundnuts, roasted
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 10-12 curry leaves
- 6 green chillies
- juice of 2 lemons
Method
To Prepare Chutney
Grind all the ingredients for chutney, except lime juice, to a paste. Remove from the mixer and add lime juice
To prepare the Chicken
Grind all the ingredients, except chicken, vinegar or lime juice and vermicilli, to a fine paste. Bring five cups water to a boil. Add 1/2 tsp salt and the chicken pieces. Simmer for five minutes. Remoce from the water and dry the chicken pieces. Prick them with a fork and marinate in the ground masala paste for three hours. Coat the chicken pieces. With coconut chutney and roll in vermicelli. Heat oil in a nonstick pan and gry the chicken pieces for 15 minutes or till crisp and done. Serve hot as a snack.
