Lamb Khorma Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 tablespoon. Coriander (ground)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika or red pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Turmericto taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Yogurt
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil or margarine
  • 1 lb. Lamb cubes (with or without bones) (from leg or veal chops shank)
  • 2 medium PotatoesOptional
  • 2 cloves,
  • 1 whole cardamon
  • 1 whole bay leaf

Method

Chop onion. Heat till onions are brown in oil or margarine. Add meat, spices, and yogurt and cook until brown for 2 or 3 minutes. Add 3 to 4 cups water, lower heat and cook till meat is almost tender. Add cubed potatoes and cook till done on medium heat. Serve over rice
