Pakoras or Bhajyas (Deep-fried Fritters) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 cup waterfew leaves of cilantro
  • mintoil for deep frying
  • salt to taste

Method

Mix everything well, except water and oil. Slowly add water until you have thick paste. Heat oil for deep frying on medium-low. Carefully, dip batter in oil with tablespoon one by one. Turn and cook at both sides until golden brown. Serve hot with chutney.
